Penarth is a town in the Vale of Glamorgan in Wales. It has a population of 22,083. The town is situated 4 miles southwest of Cardiff city centre.

Penarth was a popular holiday destination during the nineteenth-century. Sites of interest include Penarth Pier, which opened in the 1890s. Cosmeston Lakes Country Park covers an area of 37 acres and lies between Penarth and Sully. Cosmeston Medieval Village is a living history medieval village near to Penarth. Turner House Gallery is an art gallery in Penarth that was built in the 1880s. Alexandra Gardens opened in 1902. There are several churches in Penarth, including St Augustine's Church, which is Grade I listed and was constructed during the nineteenth-century.

Penarth has several primary and secondary schools, including Westbourne School, Stanwell School and St Cyres Comprehensive School. There are facilities for sports including golf, hockey, football, cricket, tennis and rugby.
