Sherborne is a market town and civil parish in Dorset, with a population of 9,523. The current average sale price is £323,662. The town lies on the River Yeo.

Landmarks in the town include Sherborne Abbey, which was founded during the eighth-century and is a Grade I listed building. Sherborne House is also Grade I listed and dates from the sixteenth-century; the main building was designed by Benjamin Bastard in 1720. Sherborne Castle is a sixteenth-century mansion with Grade I listed gardens. The mansion is set in a 1,200-acre park and was formerly the site of a twelfth-century castle. Sherborne is also home to the almshouses of saints John the Baptist and John the Evangelist, which were founded in 1438.

The town has facilities for sports such as football and rugby. Sherborne Town F.C. play their home games at Raleigh Grove, which has a capacity of 1,150.

Sherborne has a number of schools, including Sherborne School, an independent boarding school for boys established in 705 and re-founded during the reign of Edward VI. Sherborne Girls is an independent day and boarding school for girls established in 1899.

Sherborne railway station offers services to destinations including Exeter, Salisbury, London and Yeovil.
