Shrewsbury is the county town of Shropshire. It has a population of 71,715 and a current average sale price of £238,096. The town is located 9 miles east of the Welsh border.

Landmarks in the town include Shrewsbury Castle, which is a Grade I listed building and was constructed during the eleventh-century. The castle now houses the Shropshire Regimental Museum. Ditherington Flax Mill is Grade I listed and is the world's first iron-framed building. The Quarry is Shrewsbury's main recreational park; it was created in 1719 and covers an area of 29 acres. Lord Hill's Column is England's tallest Doric column and stands 40.7 metres tall. St Mary's Church is a redundant Grade I listed Anglican church that dates from the Middle Ages. St Chad's Church is also Grade I listed and was built in 1792. Shrewsbury Library is housed in a Grade I listed building; the site was formerly the home of Shrewsbury School. Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery was founded in 1835. Shrewsbury Abbey is a Grade I listed building that was founded in 1083.
