Totnes is a market town in Devon, with a population of 8,076. It is located 21 miles from the county town of Exeter.

Attractions in the town include Totnes Castle, which has features dating from the fourteenth-century and is managed by English Heritage. It is a listed building and is a scheduled monument. St Mary's Church dates from the Middle Ages. The Leechwell is a set of three springs in Totnes and is believed to have healing properties. Totnes Museum is a local museum that is housed in an Elizabethan merchant's house constructed in around 1575. It is a Grade I listed building. The Devonshire Collection of Period Costume is housed in the Totnes Fashion and Textiles Museum, and includes clothing that dates from the eighteenth-century. Dartington Hall is a Grade I listed building, while the gardens are Grade II* listed. It was built during the Middle Ages and is the headquarters of the Dartington Hall Trust.
