Halesowen is a market town in the West Midlands. It has a population of 58,135 and a current average sale price of £173,718. The town is situated 9 miles southwest of Birmingham.

Halesowen was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086. Landmarks in the town include the parish church of St John the Baptist, which was founded during the eleventh-century. The ruins of Halesowen Abbey can be seen today; the abbey was founded in 1215 and was dissolved in 1538. It is Grade I listed and is in the guardianship of English Heritage. The Leasowes is an estate covering an area of 141 acres; the parkland is Grade I listed.

The town has facilities for sports such as football, cricket, rugby and hockey. Halesowen Town F.C. play their home games at The Grove, which has a capacity of 3,150.

Halesowen has a number of primary and secondary schools, including Windsor High School, Leasowes High School and Earls High School. Halesowen College provides further education.

There is no railway station in Halesowen; the nearest railway station is Stourbridge Junction, which offers services to destinations including Birmingham, Kidderminster, Worcester, Great Malvern, Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa and London. There are local bus services in operation in the town to locations such as Dudley.
