Scarborough is a town in North Yorkshire. It has a population of 61,749 and a current average sale price of £162,560. The town is located on the North Sea coast.

The town is known as a holiday resort. Attractions include Scarborough Castle, which dates from the twelfth-century and is now managed by English Heritage. Peasholm Park is an oriental themed municipal park in the town; it opened in 1912 and covers an area of 14 hectares. The Grand Hotel is a Grade II* listed building that opened in 1867; at that time it was the largest hotel in Europe. The Crown Spa Hotel was the town's first purpose-built hotel and overlooks the South Bay. St Mary's Church is a Grade I listed building and holds the grave of Anne Bronte, who died in Scarborough in 1849. St Martin-on-the-Hill is a parish church that is also Grade I listed and was constructed in 1862-3. The Brunswick Shopping Centre has 31 stores.

Cultural attractions include The Spa, a Grade II* listed building that is used as a venue for conferences, exhibitions, entertainment and live music. Its Grand Hall has a capacity of nearly 2,000. The Stephen Joseph Theatre opened in 1996 and its main house has a capacity of 404. Scarborough Open Air Theatre is an outdoor theatre with a capacity of 8000; it was reopened by Queen Elizabeth II in 2010. The Rotunda Museum is housed in a Grade II* listed building and is one of the oldest purpose-built museums still in use in the United Kingdom. It houses a collection of Jurassic geology.

Scarborough has facilities for sports such as rowing, cricket, football and golf. Scarborough Athletic F.C. is the town's football club, and they play their home games at Flamingo Land Stadium, which has a capacity of 2,070.

Schools in Scarborough include Graham School, George Pindar School, Scalby School and St Augustine's Catholic School. Scarborough College is an independent day and boarding school founded during the 1890s. Scarborough University Technical College caters for students aged between 14 and 18. Scarborough TEC provides further education, while Scarborough Sixth Form College offers GCSEs, A Levels and BTECs. CU Scarborough is a Higher Education institute in the town owned and governed by Coventry University.

Scarborough railway station offers services to destinations including York, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Bridlington, Hull, Sheffield, London and Doncaster. There are bus services in operation in the town.
