Skipton is a market town and civil parish in North Yorkshire. It has a population of 14,623 and a current average sale price of £391,184. The town is located 16 miles northwest of Bradford.

Landmarks include Skipton Castle, which was constructed in c. 1090 by Robert de Romille. Skipton Town Hall is Grade II listed and is home to Craven Museum & Gallery, which was established in 1928 and is a local history museum. Holy Trinity Church is Grade I listed and dates from the fourteenth-century. St Stephen's Church is a Grade II listed building and was built in 1836. Plaza Cinema has an auditorium with a capacity of 320.

The town has facilities for sports such as football, cricket, rugby and golf. Skipton Golf Club was founded in 1893. Skipton has several primary and secondary schools, including The Skipton Academy, Ermysted's Grammar School and Skipton Girls' High School. Craven College provides further education.
