Redcar is a town and seaside resort in North Yorkshire. It has a population of 35,692. It is located 7.5 miles from Middlesbrough and lies on the North Sea coast.

Landmarks in the town include Redcar Racecourse, which is a thoroughbred horse racing venue that opened during the 1870s. The Zetland is the world's oldest surviving lifeboat, dating to 1802, and is currently a free museum in the town. Redcar has a sand beach, with amusement arcades along the Esplanade.

Redcar has a number of parks, such as Lily Park, Zetland Park, Locke Park and Coatham Enclosure. The area has facilities for sports including golf and cricket.

The town has several primary and secondary schools, such as Rye Hills School, Sacred Heart Secondary Catholic Voluntary Academy and Outwood Academy Redcar. Redcar & Cleveland College provides further education.

Redcar has three railway stations: Redcar British Steel, Redcar Central and Redcar East. Redcar Central railway station offers services to destinations including Middlesbrough, Darlington, Durham, Newcastle and Bishop Auckland. There are local bus services in operation in the town to locations such as Guisborough, New Marske and Saltburn-by-the-Sea.
