Swadlincote is a town in Derbyshire, with a population of 32,219. It lies near the borders with Staffordshire and Leicestershire and is 5 miles southeast of Burton-upon-Trent and 12.5 miles south of the county town of Derby.

The town was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086. Sites of interest include the parish church, which was consecrated in 1846. Sharpe's Pottery Museum explores the town's pottery heritage. There are a number of local parks in the area, such as Maurice Lea and Eureka. Swadlincote Woodlands Forest Park has more than 22,000 trees.

Swadlincote has facilities for sports, such as football. Gresley F.C. play their home games at Moat Ground, which has a capacity of 2,400. Green Bank Leisure Centre is located in Swadlincote, and there is also a large dry ski slope in the town.

Schools in the area include Granville Academy and The Pingle Academy, both of which provide secondary education.
